Group project for Mobile Programming class. Runs on Android OS, uses accelerometer to measure threshold of steps. Calculates steps per minute, counts steps taken in an exercise period, and the distance traveled in meters. The playlists and “graph it” functionalities are currently for future releases!

For my Mobile Programming course, I have to:
“Create a practical app to solve a unique problem. The interface must be clean and attractive.”

So I came up with the idea to have an app called HELP! Kidnapped Edition.

This app for the Android OS will have a single red button in the middle of the screen that when pressed, will send out an SMS (text message) with the following information to whomever you’d like to notify that you have just been kidnapped:
 Your current GPS location
Your current velocity at the time that you pressed the button
Your current battery level (in percentage) at the time you pressed the button
And of course the string - “HELP! I’ve been kidnapped!”
(Beginning layout screenshot pictured above^)What do you guys think?

So I’m taking a class called “Mobile Programming” and this was my official first step into creating an Android App. I’ll keep updating on the various things I learn to do and if you have any suggestions for anything you’d like to see made, holler!
